Patchway Community College has achieved its best ever A-level results this year, with a 100% pass rate on all qualifications and a record-breaking 19% of grades at A or A*.
A tremendous 47% of the A-level entries achieved grades in the A* to B range.
The success continued with BTEC qualifications, where 31% achieved an impressive ‘distinction’ or ‘distinction star’.
Tom Kettlety was the highest achieving boy with A*s in Maths, Physics and the Extended Project and an A in Chemistry and will now be going to Bristol University to study Physics, whilst Laura Hinett led the girls’ achievement with As in Biology, Chemistry and Maths.
Dominic Blake, who with 2A*s in Art and Graphics and a distinction in Business BTEC is going to Nottingham University to study architecture, said:
“The hard work now seems totally worth it – this is what I need to get me to the next step”.
Headteacher Jane Millicent said:
“We are so proud of the achievements of all of our students who have excelled themselves this year and secured excellent places at universities and in employment as a result.”
