Local charity Southern Brooks Community Partnership (SBCP) has announced the availability of five full-time ‘Community Organiser’ posts from 1st April 2013.
Working with CVS South Gloucestershire and Chase & Kingsforest Community Project, SBCP is taking part in a national scheme to “listen” to 500 local residents over the next 12 months. They have opportunities for five full-time posts, working for between 30 and 35 hours a week at £8.50/hour.
The appointments will be for 51 weeks from 1st April and the successful applicants will be hosted by SBCP.
You will need to be passionate about communities and believe that local people can be the catalyst for change. You will receive comprehensive training and support and work as part of a small team of Community Organisers. You will need to be able to commit to attending a three-day residential and to be able to work flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends.
Opportunities exist for working in Patchway, Filton, Bradley Stoke, Yate and Kingswood.
There may be the opportunity to extend the roles beyond the initial 51 weeks, subject to funding.
The closing date is 9am on Monday 18th February and applications need to be submitted by application form (no CVs) available from the Jobs page of the SBCP website (or ring 01454 868570).
An information session is being held on Tuesday 5th February from 5pm to 7pm at Coniston Community Centre, which will allow potential applicants to find out more about the roles.
Shortlisted candidates will need to attend an assessment day during the week commencing 4th March, for which expenses will be paid.
