Avon and Somerset Police say they have arrested two people after a man died at a property in Willow Close, Patchway, in the early hours of this morning (Monday 21st January).
Police crime scene investigators remained at the scene this afternoon (see photo above).
In a statement released to The Journal, police said:
“At around 5:35am we were informed by the ambulance service that they were treating a seriously ill man at a property in Willow Close, Patchway. Unfortunately the patient died a short time later.”
“Police officers attended the scene and two people have been arrested. They currently remain in police custody.”
“There will be police activity in the area for the rest of the day as enquiries into the death continue.”

A catchup article published on the Bristol Post website this afternoon reveals a bit more information about yesterday’s incident:
“Two men are being questioned on suspicion of murdering a 47-year-old man who died at a flat in Patchway.”
“As part of their investigations, Avon and Somerset police arrested a 27-year-old man and a 33-year-old man on suspicion of murder.”

The Bristol Post has named the dead man as Philip Coombs.
The two men that were arrested on Monday have both been bailed, pending further investigation.
