Earlier this evening, Olly Murs visited The Mall at Cribbs Causeway to turn on the Christmas lights and entertain many lucky ticket holders with his music.
Olly was the runner up of the X Factor in 2009. His support act Young Kato (previously known as The Dirty Tricks), from Cheltenham, amused the audience with a few of their own songs, and a modern cover of the popular festive song “Merry Christmas Everyone”. They then handed over to Olly who entertained an eager crowd with many of his popular hits such as “Please Don’t Let Me Go” and “Heart Skips A Beat”.
Yet before this, he turned on The Mall’s Christmas lights! With a countdown from the crowd, he pressed down on the plunger, and a winter wonderland was revealed.
Behind all the fake snow and bright lights was Santa’s Magical Castle and the largest outdoor ice rink in the south west. This magical land opened today from 7:30pm and will be open through till the 8th January 2012.
Santa and his reindeer will be flying into The Mall at 9:45am on Sunday 13th November when children will be able to take a closer look at the reindeer.
Further information on ticket prices and session times can be found online at www.mallcribbs.com.
However, if this winter wonderland is not your cup of tea, then The Mall is also open for late Christmas shopping until 10pm. So, it’s time to splash the cash and make this Christmas a year to remember with The Mall at Cribbs Causeway.
