The 2011 Patchway Festival got underway on Saturday (9th July) with a colourful parade by local schools and majorettes from Coniston Parade to Scott Park.
Town Mayor Eric Gordon was on hand to welcome the marchers to the park and declare the Community Fair open.
The fair included stalls by local groups and traders, fairground rides, refreshments, children’s entertainers and bands on stage.
Early showers failed to dampen the enthusiasm of those taking part in the parade and the sun finally came out in the afternoon, to the delight of the crowds enjoying the attractions in Scott Park.
The Festival continues with a comprehensive programme of community, cultural, and sporting events until Sunday 24th July.
